Cast a silver ring using the traditional method of cuttlefish casting - a technique used to create textured surfaces by pouring molten silver into a cuttlefish bone mould. This method of making jewellery is millennia old! It’s how yer ancestors made things.

Can I do this class?

This workshop is for beginners or those with a little experience in jewellery making.

What happens?

You will learn how to make a silver ring by casting molten silver and taking it home with you on the day. What a way to spend four hours!

Do I need to bring anything?

Everyone will have their own bench with access to all the tools and materials required to finish jewellery. You won’t need anything else as we provide the equipment needed for this session.

Please wear long hair tied up [or bring something to do so], don’t wear open-toed shoes and keep loose-fitting clothing to a minimum. If you need glasses to see things close up, please bring them with you. Creating jewellery is fiddly!

Who is teaching me?

Our Taster Sessions are taught by one of our excellent team of tutors. They are young, healthy and powered by avocado.
