Make a Silver and Resin Sea-glass Pendant

£125.00

GIVE ME THE INFO…

Are you a fan of sea glass? How about elegant silver pendants? Well, this might just be right up your street!

In this class, we take shards of sea glass, fresh off Banff beach, and encase it in a beautiful and delicate silver frame using resin!

You get to do every step of the process, no corners cut here! From making and soldering the silver round frame, to soldering the little bail, to smashing the sea glass and arranging it pleasingly in the resin to form your own little work of art!

CAN I DO THIS CLASS?

This is an entry-level class, so it’s perfect for complete beginners. Don’t worry if you’ve never done anything like this before, this is what Taster Sessions are for! And if you have made stuff before, then you’ll still have an absolutely wonderful time!

WHAT HAPPENS?

We start off by making a silver ring, that will become the frame for our resin.

Once we have shaped it, soldered it and cleaned it, we then do a bit more soldering to attach the bail!

After finishing the silver part of the pendant we will move on to creating our sea glass shards and encasing them in resin inside the silver frame.

While the resin is setting you can enjoy a nice cup of tea, a biscuit and a natter with your fellow classmates.

Once the resin is ready, we give it a final clean and finish, then VOILA! Your pendant is ready!

DO I NEED TO BRING ANYTHING?

Everyone will have their own bench with access to all the tools and materials required to make their pieces. You won’t need anything else as we provide the equipment needed for this session.

Please wear long hair tied up [or bring something to do so], don’t wear open-toed shoes and keep loose-fitting clothing to a minimum.

If you need glasses to see things close up, please bring them with you. Making jewellery is fiddly!

WHO IS TEACHING ME?

Our Taster Sessions are taught by one of our excellent tutors. At night they sleep upside down to ensure their brains receive enough blood to teach you to the best of their abilities.
