WITH HISTORIC ENVIRONMENT SCOTLAND & CRAFT SCOTLAND

*****DUE TO COVID19 *****

THESE CLASSES ARE POSTPONED FOR THE TIME BEING

We are delighted to be working with Historic Environment Scotland and Craft Scotland again on the second “Meet Your Maker” Project in Aberdeenshire, focussing on the heritage craft of silversmithing with Young People at duff house, banff.

Throughout 2019 & 2020 we will be working with Historic Environment Scotland, Craft Scotland, Aberdeenshire Council’s Community Learning & Development team and local young people on this exciting project based around Duff House in Banff.

Students will be working with our silversmith, Megan Falconer, to develop skills and create work inspired by the local gem that is Duff House. They will learn about the historical links to silversmithing in Banff and modern & traditional techniques used in silversmithing.

Once again, we are opening our doors on a Tuesday evening to local Young People aged 16-25 who want to gain some experience working in our studio and learn some new skills in a friendly warm environment.

Classes start on the 20th August 2019, consisting of three 8-week blocks covering basic techniques in silversmithing. The first 5 weeks of each block will be developing skills and techniques, whilst the final 3 weeks will be creating your own pieces, inspired by Duff House. Just choose which block you fancy…

This year, each 8-week block will focus on a different theme:
