As a highly experienced Project Manager and Designer, Alison was the obvious choice for this position. She graduated from Edinburgh College of Art and worked in the Architecture world for some time before turning to creative project development, most recently working as Arts Development Officer at Aberdeenshire Council and Project Co-ordinator for Historic Environment Scotland.
Alison is keen to develop The Smiddy’s range of experiences and opportunities to engage a wider audience with the process of making. She values the importance of skills development for Young People and has big plans for our second home in Banff.
Our silversmith technician Megan is an experienced silversmith and tutor who graduated from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design in Jewellery & Metal Design. Having split her time between making her own work for exhibitions/fairs and teaching, Megan is so excited to be part of Vanilla Ink - The Smiddy and the opportunity to combine her passions within her role.
Megan will run all of the beginner and intermediate level courses here at The Smiddy and is keen to create a space that is welcome to all.
