Banff Pebble Pendant

Banff Pebble Pendant

A pebble from the Banff coastline, cast in silver and made by hand at Smiddy Banff.

Each pendant begins as a pebble found along the Banff shore and is cast directly into silver using sand casting. It’s a slow, hands-on process, so no two pieces are ever the same.

For some, it’s a reminder of home. For others, a memory of time spent here.

The Story

Smiddy Banff was established in 2018 with the aim of bringing silversmithing and jewellery making back to North-East Scotland. From the beginning, the intention has been not just to teach, but to reconnect with Banff’s history of making and to begin building something that can carry forward.

The Banff Pebble Pendant is the first step in that.

Each piece begins as a pebble found along the Banff coastline and is cast directly into silver using sand casting, a slow and hands-on process where every piece is made individually. Because of this, no two pendants are ever the same. Each carries its own surface, its own shape, and its own quiet character.

For some, it will hold a sense of home. For others, a memory of time spent here.

This is where we start. A small object, made with care, carrying both place and intention.

A small piece of Banff to keep with you.
